Hooray For Diffendoofer Day By: Dr. Seuss
Why Read This Book? Who likes taking tests? The students at Diffendoofer school don't like them either. With all of the remarkable teachers and staff at this school, their teaching techniques had been questioned and a test was to be given to make sure the students were learning what they needed to. What will become of this beloved school and what will the children do if their school doesn't pass the test?

Authors Chair For this specific activity, I will be using the book Hooray for Diffendoofer Day! to have the students write their own story about their favorite thing about school. Once they have thought of something they love, they are to write an exaggerated scenario about what could happen in school to effect that favorite thing they love. Once it is written and finished, break the students up into groups and allow them to share their creativity with everyone on the group.

Assessment
Sharing thoughts and ideas is always encouraged. This will help the student to feel more content in a public speaking scenario. We all know as well how much students like to be the center of attention, this is the perfect opportunity.
