Fostering Creativity
This article explains creativity to be as natural and necessary for children as fresh air and sunshine. Allowing the children to be creative gives them the opportunity to have a memorable childhood and lies the foundation for a lifetime of creative expression. Creativity is about thinking, exploring, discovering, and imagining. True creativity is found in all aspects of a growing child’s life and is learned daily. Creativity starts at a young age and can be started through a simple blank piece of paper and crayon. These kinds of creations are very important to people and allowing children to begin this journey through their own discoveries is most empowering and important thing of all.
The best thing to do as a teacher is to encourage this kind of creativity and art. When a student presents you with their creativity, encourage them to talk about it, ask them questions that encourage the thought process to even more findings. When there is something you can not figure in the work of a child, do not assume that it is something that it might not be. Let that student explain to you what they have done. This allows then to have their own form of self-evaluation.

Importance of Creativity
Sir Ken Robinson sees creativity as an essential element for students as they seek jobs in the future. Ken talks about how the education system is flawed and that creativity is not a focal point of the education curriculum and that standardization is the main focus of schools these days. Ken believe that creativity is as important as literacy and numeracy. Creativity is the process of having original ideas with the steps of imagination, creativity, and innovation. In this article, ken expresses the many things that people can do wrong when it comes to creativity. The many misconceptions consist of creativity is only directly related to the arts, that only some people are creative, and that you are either born with or without creativity. A creative environment needs to be created in order to get the best out of students and teachers. Without this, children will grow up being less confident in their own decisions and opinions. For the future, creativity needs to be cultivated if we are going to be capable of building a talent pool in every field. Creativity is one of the main keys to help people figure out what their true talents are.

12 Ways to Bring Arts Into Your Classroom
As we all know, the arts are being cut in schools across the country and an extreme rate. However discouraging this may be, it is our job as teachers to not let this discourage your students. It has been proven that children who have participated in the arts for at least a full school year they are more likely to be recognized for academic achievement, be elected for class office, higher SAT scores in the future, lower drop out rates, and increased levels of community service. There are so many things you can do to incorporate the arts into you classroom such as writing a script, memory dances for a test, seeing a play the connects to the curriculum, have the students write a song, posters, and connect math to music. Incorporating these kinds of activities into the classroom can liven a dull lesson, increase student comprehension and potentially expose your students to influences they might have missed out on.
